Moscow Zoo is a museum now!
From now on, Moscow zoo is a part of International Council of Museums (ICOM). ICOM is an international network of museums and experts who work together on preserving and developing cultural and natural heritage, and its interaction with society. Today, ICOM unites more than 35000 members from 136 countries. ICOM Russia is a part of ICOM since 1957. Now ICOM Russia has 700 individual members and 70 collective ones. State Tretyakov Gallery, Museum of Contemporary Art, and Polytechnic Museum are amongst them. Joining the ICOM allows Moscow zoo to grow as a museum of nature.
